The smell of old musty old books. Books that hold the keys to
the world’s greatest mystery. Books that would tickle the mind.
You have now entered the Sunydale High School Library. Rupert
Giles (Anthony Stuart Head) is the very cautious librarian at
Sunydale High. He used to work in a British musuem and he brought
his "references" with him. When Buffy runs into the librarian,
he knew immedily that she’s the Chosen one. But, his way of
telling her is aliitle blunt and freaky. But, she accepts her
destiny.
Willow and Xander help Giles research the latest terrors of the
school. "Research Boy comes through with the Knowledge." Xander
said in the episode "The Invisible Girl," after he came through
with a bit of information. Buffy, Xander, Willow, and Giles
always hang out in the library and have small meetings. You can
always find them in the library.
Giles really hates computers. Call it a Computer phobia. He
claims that he hates them because they don’t smell. He loves the
smell of books (old musty smell) because they smell of knowledge
and many years of it. And computers don’t have that smell. Giles
comes from many generations of watchers. His biggest fear is
Buffy dieing because he didn’t train her enough. (see the episode,
Nightmares) But, he has mention to Buffy that she is doing pretty
good so far. Better than the other slayers in the past. Giles has
quite a problem with the generation gap. He never understands
what Buffy, Willow, and Xander are talking about sometimes when
they are discussing the latest or useing slang terms. He
sometimes forgets his aduience and use big words. "I think I
speak for everyone here when I say... huh?" Buffy said to Giles
in the episode "The Invisble Girl." Over all, he’s a cool! And
he’s really understanding when Buffy is having a problem trying
to have a social life, but never being able to because she’s a
slayer.
Every Watcher need a Slayer! Giles is the Watcher.
